Examining the rules, risks, and systems behind sustainable change.

With a background in European and environmental law, I explore how governance frameworks influence the transition towards sustainable forms of energy, finance, economic development, and the evolution of environmental protection. My work focuses on renewable energy, risk governance, sustainable business models, and emerging approaches to environmental protection.

About

My academic path began in European law and developed further through environmental law, but the questions that motivate me have always extended beyond doctrine alone. I treat law not as a set of rules, but rather a system of incentives, institutions, and ideas that shapes collective decision-making.

My work rests at the intersection of environmental protection, technological innovation, legal frameworks and renewable energy. This includes questions regarding the interactions of legal and regulatory frameworks with technology, investment, and market dynamics that accelerate or constrain change.

Alongside these practical questions, I remain fascinated by broader debates regarding risk, responsibility, and humanity's general relationship with the natural world, including emerging concepts such as rights of nature and new approaches to environmental governance. What connects these interests is a desire to understand how institutions can support more resilient, sustainable, and long-term forms of development.

Field Notes

Every energy system distributes authority, benefits, risks, and dependence. The transition to climate-neutrality therefore concerns more than technological advancement, also raising questions about ownership, participation, and governance. Energy communities, a relatively recent innovation in EU energy law acquis, reflect a broader shift. Decarbonization is not only a technical challenge, but one of legitimacy and agency, challenging the traditional separation between those who make decisions and those who live with their consequences.
